Hello, there. My name is Richard and, for my sins, I am a screenwriter. I'm also an author and anthologist. I began writing screenplays in 2004 and had my first script optioned almost immediately, which really gave me a false impression of the business. Unfortunately, production fell through at the financing stage. Then the same thing happened with my second script. Undeterred, I carried on writing and ultimately produced nine screenplays.
In 2008 I won the BAFTA/Rocliffe New Screenwriters contest for my script, Debunking Dad, and attended a Q&A at BAFTA where a scene from my script was performed live. It was the closest I came to realizing my dream, and the come-down made me jaded enough to pack it in for many years.
Now I'm back in the game and determined to see that dream through. I was good enough to get where I got back then and I've only gotten more seasoned. Looking to network with fellow writers, and other industry folk.
Unique traits: I come from a literary family background and I know the horror genre inside out.
Debunking Dad Drama ⋄ Comedy Renowned paranormal expert Charles Carter, on discovering he has a terminal illness, finds himself unwittingly embarking on a road trip across Britain's supernatural hotspots with his estranged son, and professional sceptic, Doug, during which they rediscover each other.
