My filmmaking and photography are rooted in the discipline of visual anthropology, including long-term ethnographic engagement with the communities where I undertake my visual projects. I have undertaken long-term fieldwork in Hmong communities throughout the world (China, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, the United States, France, and Australia), on "post-sectarian" dynamics in Northern Ireland, and with cattle ranching communities in the American West, as well as shorter-term projects elsewhere. I am looking to develop productive partnerships with filmmakers and storytellers who are willing to transgress and build on approaches in anthropology and filmmaking to tell engaging and ethnographically rich stories from these communities.
