Pedro René Bastidas's Reel

I re-scored this trailer to test some new virtual instruments and I liked how it sounded so I decided to add it to my demo reel. It is a typical action trailer with orchestral and electronic sounds.

This is a quite different approach from the original version. I haven't seen this move yet, so I composed the music for the scene without considering the romance between the main characters because I don't know their history, instead I focused on the landscapes and the images. The Original Score was composed by John Barry and won an Oscar

I scored this scene in the 2014 NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop. I would use a different instrumentation for this film, like a pop/rock band with orchestral and electronic elements but we didn't had that instrumentation in the workshop, instead we had a 28 piece orchestra. The music is mixed higher than would be in a real situation for Demo porpouses.
