About Anita

Currently residing in Atlanta Georgia, Anita has spent many years on the sets of HBO, Netflix, and Harpo Films in a business management capacity for her actor-daughter Kyanna Simone. Anita is also a broadband TV entertainment technical writer and systems engineer. The two careers have fostered Anita’s interest in storytelling with a passion for writing in the drama, action thriller and comedic genres. Currently holding a Master’s in Computer Science from NCSU, Anita is pursuing Feature Film Writing Certification from the UCLA Extension program while continuing to write her screenplays.

Anita's screenplays focus on telling fictional stories centered around female or minority heroes. Through these stories, her goal is to create more opportunities for women and minorities in front and behind the camera and to create engaging stories that audiences can identify, empathize and/or sympathize with as well as appreciate and enjoy.

Anita loves to listen to audible action books, watch fictional murder mysteries, participate in group workouts, travel with her family, and laugh as much as possible!
