I was born in Nigeria and grew up under military dictatorships. I was part of the struggle for democracy in Nigeria, so most of my works are deeply influenced by these experiences. From "90°," which is a film about a young man's dream of escaping the harsh realities of his world to come to America, to "Comrade," which is about a man's definition of crime as a protest against the existing social order, I've always sought to lend a voice against social injustice, poverty, and deprivation.
