Writing is one of my greatest passions. I've been writing professionally for 12 years and just this year I've recently got into screenwriting, I am self-taught and have just completed my first script. I love to write in the drama, thriller and family category and I like writing things that are realistic. I'm the same way with my books. My first script is about a man who is constantly being abused by his wife and he's too ashamed to get help. The abuse progressively gets worse and he has to decide what's more important, saving himself from being embarrassed or saving himself from the hands of his wife. I chose to write this script because I wanted to raise awareness about men who are abused by women because the spotlight and emphasis is always placed on women who are abused and while just as important, abuse doesn't target any one gender, it can happen to anyone. I'm a woman myself and I see the difference that is often made between the two genders when it comes to domestic violence. I want to find someone who wants my script and will do it justice.
