I graduated from the University of Toronto with a degree in Cinema Studies - essentially academic film criticism, heavy on technical analysis and ideology, grounded in sociohistorical context.
I’ve developed a curiosity in creating film and television, and how my experience in looking at the production process “backward” might contribute a unique perspective or offer a differing skill set.
I would consider my strengths to be analysis, research and an economical writing style. I enjoy trying to find the core of a piece of work and express it clearly and concisely.
Not living in a major production hub, I have been greatly enjoying Stage 32’s seminars and the potential to collaborate or just converse with others in the community.
I’m interested in any aspect of the film-making process I could be of assistance in, and can make quick work of adapting to the unfamiliar. I consider my objective here to learn and explore.
I’m authorized to work in the U.S. and Canada, and willing to re-locate.
Personally, I have a soft spot for absurdist comedy, adult animation, reality TV and professional wrestling. I believe in approaching pop culture with the same deference usually reserved for "prestige" film and television. Additionally, I have a degree in Political Science from the University of Toronto, and have spent most of my adult life in the Washington, D.C. area. Basically, if The Rock plays the President, or The Rock becomes the President, I'm prepared.
