I am a descendent of Iraqi Jews who settled in Calcutta, India in the early 19th century. I was educated by Roman Catholic priests to Senior Cambridge level. In Israel I did my A Levels from the London University working by myself here in Israel. In India I worked at buying tobacco and running a Brading brance for the National Tobacco Co. I left India at the age of 22, spent 10 years in London, U.K., married there and with my wife and baby daughter emirated to Israel, where we had two sons. I now have three graddaughters form my daughter. I worked mostly as an assistant to the CEO of a company importing electronic equipment.
I have been a theatre director of English plays in Israel. Two of my directorial efforts were selected to represent Israel in the Dundalk International Theatre Competition in Eire. They were very well recieved and my direction of the Dairy of Anne Frank is remembered there to this day after 40 years. I also lecture successfully on various subjects: 'The Genesis and Conception of My Fair Lady,' 'The Jews of India,' 'A Shake-Up of Shakespeare's Shylock,' 'The Genius of Cole Porter,' 'Shakespeare's World of Julius Caesar,' and others.
