About Daniel

Danny Christie is an emerging writer, filmmaker, and music artist with a bold creative vision centered around bringing Afro-Caribbean stories to the forefront of contemporary media. Born in the UK with Jamaican roots, Danny’s work is deeply inspired by the rich cultural narratives of the Black diaspora, blending historical elements with Afrofuturism and exploring diverse spiritual systems beyond mainstream narratives.

Danny is the creative force behind The Mystical Legend of Eagle-Ras, a dynamic vigilante story set in a British urban landscape in the Afro-Caribbean community, and Petty Peak, a gritty drama showcasing the intertwined lives of characters across decades, focusing on socio-political themes of race, survival, and resilience in a fictional UK city. His graphic novel version of Eagle-Ras (released in 2018) laid the foundation for this unique universe, now being developed into screen adaptations.

Having worked on various film productions as a runner, extra, and actor, including appearances in Netflix’s Scoop and Damian Brewer’s short film Rant, Danny has gained hands-on industry experience. In addition, he has released several tracks as an independent music artist, with his most popular song, Taking the Piss, gaining traction in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. His artistic journey spans across writing, directing, and music production, with a mission to build bridges between historical narratives and futuristic visions, always rooted in authentic storytelling and cultural pride.

Danny's ambition is to bring fresh, diverse stories to the mainstream, creating work that entertains while challenging perceptions and uplifting underrepresented voices.

Unique traits: As a multi-talented writer, filmmaker, and musician, my unique traits lie in my ability to craft compelling narratives that merge Afro-futuristic themes, social commentary, and complex characters. Drawing inspiration from my Jamaican heritage and UK upbringing, I specialize in creating immersive stories that challenge societal norms, embrace diversity, and explore underrepresented perspectives. My background in independent production gives me a grounded approach to storytelling, while my experience in both grassroots and commercial projects allows me to bring a fresh, authentic voice to the screen. With a passion for connecting historical and spiritual themes to contemporary issues, my work resonates deeply with both niche and mainstream audiences, making it both thought-provoking and widely accessible.
