Spencer Shackleton

With a long and productive career from the Hotel and tourism industry, Fishing and Dairy Industry to the Transport and logistics industry, and now into the Film, Television and Radio production industry, with a 15 year sabbatical in between to serve my country as a Leading Airman in the fleet Air arm, serving in theatres of war/operations in Kuwait, Iraq, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Kosovo, Somalia, East Africa, anti drug smuggling in the Caribbean , with a wide range of rotary aircraft, Lynx Mk4 & Mk8 Seakings Mk2, Mk 4 & Mk6 and fixed wing Sea Harrier FRS1 and FRS2 on aircraft carriers HMS Ark Royal and HMS Invincible, along with roles in Fire & Search and Rescue operations, and other specialist roles in Air Operations.

Now specialising in Film and Television as a competent Director, videographer, Camera Operative, and roles as Director of Photography, sound and lighting, with my long and varied past career lending my life experiences into story telling through the visual media. I am a competent, self starter with a high resilience level to complete tasks on time and in budget. I have completed a Bachelors degree at Lancaster University, and a Masters degree at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). I am also a member of Equity and BECTU.
I entered the North Hollywood California Zedfest Film festival and screenplay competition in 2024 with an original script I wrote called A-Pier-ition, I was placed as a semi finalist. This was my first entry into a film festival, and there was very good competition.
