Who is Morgan Drasan? In a nutshell, an emerging screenwriter with a diverse portfolio spanning drama, melodrama, comedy, and rom-coms.
I write from my cluttered London flat with a cat that I truly believe hates me; think busy whiteboard, espressos, rain across the window that overlooks a city that never shuts up. It’s where I dream up stories. I grew up bingeing Sex and the City; city chaos is my jam, and then Breaking Bad, where the likes of Walter White spiral into brilliance.
I didn’t come up through film school (and some may look down on me for that); I started by grinding on student films, both in front of and behind the lens. I then took time out from a well-paid city job to pick up low- or no-paid acting roles, just for the kicks. One day, I’d be in 1950s party attire earning industry rates; the next, floating around in a spacesuit on a green screen student set for free - and I loved every minute of it. My high point was when Colin Farrell ad-hoc'd and asked me to get him a drink whilst the film was rolling.
I’m obsessed with rom-coms, drama, and sci-fi that twists. I watch Fleabag for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s dry messiness, The Good Place for its quirky heart, and Stranger Things for ensemble chaos with a sci-fi kick. I try and make my scripts blend that, heart, hustle, and a “what if?” spark, brewed over London lunches and late-night pints and pub rants. Love’s messy, worth it, and fun, that’s my beat.
Fave actors? Emily Blunt’s edge is my go-to. Reese Witherspoon’s warmth. Kevin Hart’s fast-talking chaos. Chris Pratt’s goofy heroics. Owen Wilson for... well, being Owen Wilson!
My flat? My chaos hub - sci-fi posters (Blade Runner next to When Harry Met Sally) fight for wall space, a touch of ABBA Live, Radiohead/Muse. I am a recluse, I don't really like many humans, but I love London’s hidden pubs; but not the Tube delays.
That’s me, Morgan Drasan, scripts locked, ready to chat from this rainy corner of the world.
