About Ioannis

An Award Winning Screenwriter, wrote 60 scripts, 18 sales including 4 scripts for a renown studio and 1 option.

His 'Joliet' True Crime Based Feature and Limited Sereis received high reviews from veteran industry insiders.

One of three screenwriters chosen for adaptation of Jack Goddard's Best Seller 'The Survivor' for a Disney-DreamWork's co-production.

His screenplay and stage play “If Loving You Is Wrong”, using a remake on the megahit title song, is capturing the eye of industry pros and investors in both media. An exhibition stage performance was met with a highly pleased crossover audience.

"Ble Rose", a drama on human trafficking, is before investors and an Atlanta Producer.

His rewrite on "Beneath The Stairs" literally saved the $4M project according to their Producer.

“Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”, inspired by the famous Helnwein painting, won the 2012 Phoenix Comicon Best Fan Film Screenplay.

WHAT INSIDERS SAY OF HIS WRITING SKILLS:
“Script is too good not to get produced. So well written it practically directs itself.” Producer Terry Donnelly (12 Angry Men, The Exorcist, The French Connection, Midnight Cowboy)

“The best writer I’ve encountered, except for Robert Towne. I thought I was the hardest worker in Hollywood, but Ioannis’ right up there with me. His work is meticulous. He’s a perfectionist.” First AD Benjamin Rosenberg (Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, 9 1/2 Weeks, Prizzi's Honor)

"Thank you for sending your script. You are a good writer. The script is very well written.” Producer/Director Hilbert Hakim (Krews), First AD (Batman Returns)

“You are an extremely talented scriptwriter.” Producer Marc Bienstock, Mainline Releasing

“(American Cutie) Very good script. Recommending for our higher-budget production level.” Producer Steve Hadju

Selected to the 1st Annual Sundance Independent Producer's Conference at Sundance, UT.

He spring boarded that invaluable Sundance experience by making AZ history when writing, directing, producing the rokumentary 'When Legends Meet' that secured two world distribution deals featuring Latin superstars Secreto of Tumba La Casa Fame and Latin Grammy Winning El Gran Combo. To secure the artists’ rights from the record label, Ioannis negotiated “pen to pen” with the world’s most renown music entertainment attorney, William Krasilovsky (author of the famous “This Business of Music”).

He worked for his mentor at Hollywood Script Analysis from 1990 - 1996, critiquing over 1000 scripts. The method evaluates the script three times: once for correct format, second for dialogue and expo, and the final pass for story structure. After each evaluation, the writer makes the improvements and the critique advances. A comprehensive process writers find worthy.

An energetic, inspirational speaker and Adjunct Screenwriting Instructor at Scottsdale Community College and Paradise Valley Community Colleges, Ioannis has given highly attended seminars for Hamilton and Basha Libraries, City of Phoenix, AZ Screenwriters Association, PFP, IFP-Phoenix, Phoenix Writers Club.

His 'Screenwriting Kept Simple' book, is on Amazon and Kindle.

I’m writing to thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and wisdom about the screenwriting process and your experience as a writer in the film business. You had mentioned how important it is for you to share your knowledge with others, and I feel that is one of the greatest gifts to give.
