Footage from my visit to the Sea Islands filming the Gullah Gee Chee segment of my documentary "The Descendants of Africa: Evolution of a People and Culture". Btasket weaving is one of the many activities reflecting the retention of their African culture.
Very raw footage of one of many interviews in the "Creole" segment of my documentary. Mrs. Borders in New Orleans tells us what a "Creole" is. I interviewed Creoles in Nachitoches as well and at a Creole Conference in Las Vegas. Hoping to resume filming in Latin America this year.
My latest play was inspired by interviews of the Louisiana Creoles. It is totally fiction but based in historical facts. I acted in it as well as produced and directed it with a very talented cast. In this scene with talented actor Christiana Blain who plays my daughter Lizette Laviteaux.
