Vicki Bawcombe

I'm a screenwriter, film-school lecturer, script consultant and dialect coach from Cape Town, South Africa. If that seems like an odd mix - I trained as an actor and segued into writing - first for theatre, then TV. My forst real job was with a state-funded theatre company, which was terrific, but times changes and I moved on into film and TV. For many years I freelanced as an actor writer, voice artist and occasional dialect and accent coach. Gradually scriptwriting took over, and I can now say I've been a writer and teacher of writing for over 20 years. Now I teach at a film school, and consult on scripts and coach dialects on the side. In the end - it's all about telling the story.
