As any film accountant will tell you, sub production houses must account for the cost of making props, digital manipulations and also pay their own employees. So they charge what they think is a fair price including some profit. The studios these directors work with are also mindful of what a film is "supposed" to cost based on the budgets they allow for. So while your argument is laudible it is also flawed. You have not seen the forest for the trees.
