Hello - My name's Mark Wayne McGinnis and I'm a full-time author but got my start writing scripts. I co-wrote and directed the movie, Openings - The Search for Harry, which was picked up by Giam-TV. My wife and I went bankrupt making that movie, but the experience led to me trying my hand at writing a Sci-fi novel called Scrapyard Ship. It was a really big success, one that came when I was eyeing a particularly cozy freeway underpass to move my family to - kidding - but really, this newfound writing nitch could not have come at a better time. Ten years and 39 (many best-sellers) novels later, I'm still writing about spaceships, robots, and time warps. My goal now is to create better stories, have more engaging, multi-dimensional characters, to leave my readers breathless. I'm constantly learning from other writers, writers at every stage of their own evolution. It's about being creative and inspired. I've had a number of total failures, books that I loved writing but didn't sell for shit . . . but the experience of writing them made up for it, well, kinda . . . . :-)
