Hi all,

To describe what I have in mind is quite complex, so understand that what you're about to read is only a very small part of a much larger picture.

Some of you with a technical background may be familiar with the concept of Git, which is a decentralised version control software application written by Linus Torvalds ( the developer of the Linux operating system ), it is extremely efficient, and as such has gained much popularity, and is used by many large software developers, however it is not strictly limited to developing software, and there's another version of it called GitBook which is used to publish writing.

You may also have heard of Torrents, which are a decentralised file sharing protocol ... and then of course there's Blockchain, which is a decentralised ledger used for cryptocurrencies, although the principles behind this are not limited to applications with crypto.

Another group developed a thing called IPFS, which stands for the Interplanetary File System, which basically means it is content based addressing for files, as opposed to location based addressing ... normally what would happen when you seek a file, is you have to tell the computer WHERE the file you want is located so that it can download a copy, but IPFS combines Git Torrent and Blockchain to create this new paradigm of content based addressing, so that you don't need to know WHERE the content is, you just need to know WHAT the content is.

Now ... what I have in mind is a vision which utilises these things, and eventually combines them into what I refer to as a Project Collaboration Development and Resource Allocation Framework, so that any project can be undertaken in a decentralised manner, and this will all be developed around the concept of Story Telling, because no matter the project you want to develop, whether it is building a machine, or making a movie, everything begins with the story of what you want to do.

My goal is to create this framework, link it to several other things, and test it by way of publishing a story I have in mind, and which story relates to the whole vision this is all about.

Through testing the project on my own projects in this way, the development of the vision is effectively an outcome of the development of the vision, or in other words: each sub-project undertaken, gradually adds to the whole framework, thus bootstrapping itself into existence, and then evolving further every time a new project is undertaken.

Eventually when it is deemed ready, I would then like to open it up for anyone else to use.

That's not even the tip of the iceberg of what this is all about, but it should suffice for a rough understanding.

I hope to use Scrivener ( by Literature and Latte ) as the writing platform to start with, as their software is the closest thing that exists to the requirements I have, and thus it gives the greatest head start, however other software packages better suited to specifically script and screenplay writing would be integrated next, such as WriterDuet, as this story would evolve from text only to including audiovisual components, and then later expanding further to include interactive components.

By combining all these things, I hope to achieve a situation where a story can begin to be published in a decentralised manner, with a certain amount of initial free content to hook the reader, after which they would need to pay to access more content, and the system will remember what they have read, alert them to any changes made in previously accessed text or other content, and show them only that content they have paid to view ( on top of the free content ). Thus revenue can start flowing at the earliest possible stage, as well as building an audience and various other benefits of the system.

If you would like to know more and you have an interest in funding such a vision, please understand first of all that this is just a tiny part of a much greater vision, which is the culmination of a 30+ year academic obsession of mine, relating to the quantification of ecological and social justice and sustainability, and as such, I have a great many pre-requisites which would need to be fulfilled before I would consider partnering with anyone, as I cannot risk 3 decades of my life being wasted by mistakes ... so please, only contact me if you're genuinely interested, and you're willing to accept the idea that no matter how long you listen to me speak about this, you will likely never understand it the way I do, and you will need to be prepared to place a great deal of trust in me, and let go of a lot of control ... your role would be only as an investor, and only on terms that do not sabotage or undermine my objectives vision and principles, UNLESS I get to know you well enough and you convince me that you have something beyond money to offer. While I understand this caveat might put off a lot of investors, that's absolutely fine by me, because I am ONLY looking for the person(s) who remain excited after hearing that, because if you're not still excited, then I already don't trust you, and that's from a very long history of dealing with people of every kind across every industry and many countries.

HOWEVER also note that as I am very familiar with the requirements of investors, while you may not get what you're usually expecting in the way you usually expect it, I do understand the principles of hurdle rates of investment return, risk return, delayed gratification, exit strategy and so on ... and I have built into my plans a way of dealing with these concerns without underminding sacrificing or sabotaging the very reasons I am doing any of it in the first place ... so either you want to find out, or you don't, and that ball is entirely in your court now.

Hi all ... I hope you enjoy that title description, I sometimes describe myself as looking like the love-child of a Hobbit with gigantism that shagged a Wookie after a big night out at The Green Dragon ( or a Wookie with a Brazilian ) ... partly because I think it’s accurate, partly because it also sums up my inner self, and partly because I know that when you use descriptions like this, it will instantly put off all the boring conservative people whose company would make me want to gnaw my own arm off to escape anyway.

This should also give you some idea of how I write.

I’ve done more than 100 jobs in my life plus 20 years formal and informal tertiary level study and research as part of a 30 year obsession with the quantification of Ecological & Social Justice & Sustainability via the principles of Ecological Systems Modelling & Thermodynamics, as a basis for the development of non-species-biased, non-property/trade/currency-based, and non-hierarchical (aka anarchic) justice economics & politics ...

... and this is the subject matter of a series of books I’m now writing, which are largely academic in nature, but which I hope will form part of a set of geeky background materials for a sci-fi screenplay which relates these ideas to a fictional storyline.

I’m also working on a Project Collaboration Development & Resource Allocation Framework which I hope to prototype and test on my own books/films/games production process, before opening it up for others to use.

I would very much like to do some acting as a way of developing my writing skills, but also with a view to one day directing ( and understanding the actor’s perspective in that process ).

If anyone has any projects I can get involved in ( Australia or NZ ) I’m keen to work in every aspect of production so that I really understand what goes into it.

I haven't used this site much because I've been busy with other things, and so I'm not really familiar with a lot of its functionality, and I thought this might be the quickest & simplest way to achieve the message I wish to convey ( by reintroducing myself ).

If anyone has any tips on other parts of this site where I should open a new thread for future posts / discussions ( as per non-spamming policy of the site and this Lounge area ), please let me know your thoughts.

I have an obsession that dates back 30 years to questions I started asking in my teens about the fundamental nature of civilisation, and which has now become a single coherent vision for the transformation of our civilisation.

I would like to write & direct several movies on this topic, but first let me explain this vision.

Many years ago I started asking certain questions, and which resulted in a single central question becoming an obsession:

"What would it take to create a completely ecologically and socially friendly and sustainable civilisation?"

... and this question led me to a great deal of research, study, contemplation and so on, which in turn led me to the development of a system in which I can actually quantify Ecological & Social Justice & Sustainability ( in real units of measurement ) by way of the principles of Ecological Systems Modelling & Thermodynamics ( see the work of the late ecologist Howard Odum ).

So from this I've developed an integrated Project Collaboration Development & Resource Allocation Framework which is designed to utilise and evolve new strategies structures and systems of non-species-biased, non-property/trade/currency-based, and non-hierarchical (aka anarchic) justice economics & politics, as new foundations of civilisation ( including the transition to such a future from the status quo ).

For fans of The Zeitgeist Movement ( Peter Joseph ) and The Venus Project ( Jacque Fresco - whom I heard has just died RIP ), my work is a method of bringing about a Resources Based Economy, though I only heard about this phrasing long after I started, and I came at it from a completely different direction and perspective to either of those bodies of work.

My own work was inspired in part by the sci-fi author Isaac Asimov, particularly his Foundation saga, and I'd like to write a particular sci-fi in honour of that series, but with a very different story line used to describe my work, and to show people what alternative civilisation is possible.

SO ... THE BOTTOM LINE:

I'd like to hear from people with money whom would be willing to invest at risk for the creation of my Project Collaboration Development & Resource Allocation Framework, so that I can test the system on a few film projects, before opening it up for others to use.

BENEFITS:

Every project undertaken in the framework - regardless of subject matter, industry, or objectives - would be helped by the framework to ensure that it causes the least deleterious and greatest beneficial ecological and social consequences in the pre-production-post processes, and then in distribution, implementation, and utilisation after that also.

ROI:

I've designed a bi-directionally translating interface and buffer between the economic status quo of capitalism, versus the internal economic workings of the Project Collaboration Development & Resource Allocation Framework ... but I need initial support to put all that stuff in place in order to use it ... so the intention is to retrospectively convert initial angel investors investments ( on a handshake ) into formalised investments within the framework, once it's up and running, at which point a backdated calculation would be made to determine what earnings should be attributed had the system magically appeared prior to investment.

Hi! You know, at the high school dance, that girl with the big glasses who sat as far away from the dance floor as possible? Well, that is me with social media (minus the glasses, of course). I don't normally post much, if anything, but here it goes! I've done 4 of the Stage 32 pitchfests so far. The first few times I was so nervous I actually broke out into hives (ok, so that's happened every time, not the point of this story.) But each time has been a learning experience and really enjoyable! The excs Joey gets are incredibly friendly. All 4 have asked to read my script. The last pitch I did was Mr. Damon Lane of Zero Gravity Management, he was absolutely lovely. He was chatty, asked lots of questions, not just about my script but about me as a person. He was just an all around nice person, who I really hope I get to work with again one day. I probably would not have done that pitch without Joey's encouragement, but I am so glad I did. Even if nothing monetary comes of these pitches I have learned so much. 1) Excs are humans just like us. They are not the big bad wolf, they are not out to get you. They are genuinely interested in what you have to offer. 2) Always, be prepared, know your story and everything about it. 3) at the very very least, I went from knowing absolutely no one in Hollywood to 4 excs in the span of a few weeks! Thank you Joey and Stage 32 for asking the wallflower to dance! :)

Hi everyone ... I am an extremely good strategist & systems designer (physical, virtual or conceptual systems) ... so very good at seeing the flaws & potential in things, then working to remove or transform the flaws (into new potentials where possible), and to create risk-managed stages for a projects' strategy given the resource & time constraints you may have. My background is eclectic to say the least ... I have studied everything from health & well-being, to philosophy, law, politics, business, sales, maths, logic, computer programming, engineering, and other sciences ... and I have worked in around 100 jobs over my 42 years ... so no matter what the situation, I have either done something similar, or can extrapolate from something else, or can figure it out from first principles ... in most cases ... there will be many exceptions of course (but even then, I can usually understand the relevant concepts well enough to figure out a solution & work with experts in the required fields to make it happen). I love cinema, and have (amongst other things) worked in entertainment (but mostly events) as a rigger / scaffolder and audio-visual techie for about 12 years total ... but I cannot do this work any more due to injuries. I am looking for clients to work with as a consultant (my new business), and willing to look at contra / retrospective payment options (trade, royalties, retrospective commissions etc.) ... so that I can build a collection of case-studies & testimonials of my work with which to attract other paying clients. What particularly interests me is solving the challenges no one else can solve (it's the quickest way to build a reputation - and I'm quite confident to do so) ... so feel free to get in touch if you have a project which has some obstacles you want to overcome ... whether they be systemic or strategic or revenue based doesn't matter ... if I genuinely cannot advise you, I will say so.
