About Carol

Carol Dunitz is a producer, playwright, composer, lyricist and actor. She is currently casting for her musical movie, "Bernhardt on Broadway." The movie is based on a one woman stage musical she toured in a decade ago and has been flushed out with additional characters and songs. The screenplay, a musical with fifteen songs, is about Sarah Bernhardt, the great French actress who was, for half a century, the most famous woman in the world. Dunitz read close to 100 books in French and English as well as countless articles and reviews before creating the show which was enthusiastically received during its stage run.

Supporting cast for the show includes a reporter from the New York Times (a Rick Moranis type), her assistant and 'sidekick' ( a cross between Danny DeVito and Joel Grey) and her leading man/lover who is in his 30s, over 6', muscular and has a foreign accent. Smaller roles include that of the Maitre d'hotel, her personal chef, her piano player, and a maid. There are a number of extras. Dunitz is working on assembling her crew and cast. She would like to find a director who has experience directing musicals, a choreographer who is accustomed to working in small spaces and an AD who has reliable connections for crew.

Dunitz previously ran an advertising agency. She wrote speeches for high level executives and created radio and TV ads as well as other tactics for campaigns.

Carol Dunitz has a Ph.D. in Speech Communication and Theatre.
