About Jose

JOSE ALVAREZ is currently working on several features. “Sacred Game”, in which Jose played two characters, can now be seen on Netflix®. The next feature his character Frankie trying to save his mother from dying, in “The Ride of Tom and Valkyrie” that can be seen via . Jose can also be seen in a national television commercial.

Jose is currently in production with two web series’. The first is “Hamilton Street”. His character, La Plaga, is in control of supplying large sum of drug to Tito http://youtu.be/zonVKAqvs5K . This production is directed by Nathan Gadsden. The second is “The Crew” in which his character Miguel is the head of the latino drug lord. This production is directed by Tony Napolatino . He also has a couple of feature films in pre-production. One of these is the anticipated comedy “Miami or Bust” which is about three friends who wage on who can make it to Miami in 24 hours. This will begin Summer 2013 and is directed by Chris DePierro. The second is about the music explosion in the 1970/1980’s in Asbury Park, NJ which is slated for production Fall 2013 and is directed by Sean Guess.

You have probably seen his work in such films as “Jacobs Ladder” by
Sidney Lumet and Tim Robbins, “Shock to the System” and “QA” with
Nick Nolte and Armand Assanti, and Spike Lees’ “Bamboozled” just to name
a few. He has worked alongside Vincent Pastore in the Sopranos, Third
Watch, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. His theater experiences
include Godspell, The Importance of Being Ernest and Guys and Dolls for
which his singing and dancing were evidence of this talented Latino. He was
nominated for a Perry Award for best male performance in a musical.

His journey has taken him from New Jersey to New York to California back to New Jersey. He studied at the Stella Adler Conservatory in NY and at the Van Mar Academy School of Acting in California. He majored in Radiologic Science in a small community college in northern New Jersey. He graduated receiving an Associate Degree. His personal life and acting career has brought him to this pivotal point. The opportunity and chance has presented itself and the funny, lovable Latino has fully embraced the challenge. Michelle Rodriguez once told Jose, “you are a very talented guy and someday someone will give you a chance.” Jose will capture the hearts of the American Latino families as well as the American audience.
