The witch Veshtytsa deceitfully lures a modern man into a Ukrainian hamlet frozen in the 18th century. There, by day, superstitious Cossacks live, and by night, the unclean hold power — chorts, a vovkulak, and a mavka. He will have to try on the witch's curse for himself. But to outwit death and save love, he must use this curse.
