About Michael

Michael Potts' horror screenplay, "Obedience," was a finalist at the 2013 Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville and at the 2013 Peachtree Village International Film Festival in Atlanta. He two novels published by WordCrafts Press, the Southern fiction novel END OF SUMMER and the horror novel UNPARDONABLE SIN. His poetry chapbook, FROM FIELD TO THICKET, won the 2006 Mary Belle Campbell Poetry Book Award of the North Carolina Writers' Network. That same year he won the Rose Post Creative Nonfiction Award for his essay, "Haunted." As Professor of Philosophy at Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he has numerous academic publications, including an edited book, 30 scholarly articles and book chapters, and over 50 scholarly presentations. A native of Smyrna, Tennessee, Michael, his wife, Karen, and their three cats, Frodo, Pippin, and Rosie, live in Linden, North Carolina.
