Nahid Alipour has devoted her entire professional life to achieving excellence in hair design and education. The tressed-to-kill queen of transformations, for three successful decades has brought her years of hands-on experience to other hairstylists and various small businesses and family enterprises and whips them into shape.
With her signature edgy style, youthful energy and exceptional skills as an artist and educator, Nahid Alipour is without question the industry’s golden girl and her resume reads like a biography of a born hairstylist.
Nahid have been involved in the hairdressing since very young age and come from generations of hairdressers who gave her the skill and passion that runs deep in her veins. She began cultivating her career at 14 years old with the encouragement of her close-knit family. Nahid’s personality and experience have only fueled her artistic flair for the myriad of styles that are ever changing with the times.
Attracted to the education, unique philosophy and culture of Toni & Guy Nahid joined their 3rd salon in US, in 1989 and achieved the best stylist of the year by 1991. She began to focus her career on education, working her way up through the ranks to become Salon Art Director, a position that required her to train all Toni & Guy apprentices and stylists at the Salon. During this time Nahid start training system by assisting in the creation of a specific written methodology and terminology of the classic Toni & Guy styles so it can create the four point system that made hairdressing easy for aspiring hairdressers to learn. The resulting training program ensured a consistent level of quality throughout the salons and remains the foundation for the current Toni & Guy training program and as a member of the artistic team, Nahid traveled and demonstrated to salons across the nation representing Toni & Guy and TIGI Lina.
Ultimately, Nahid became involved with Toni & Guy Academy in 1995 and was promoted to the Advanced Education Director and start creating the class formats and curriculum that helped establish Toni & Guy Advanced Education as a leader in hairdressing education and training the artistic team. Committed to the growth of the salon Division She joined the TIGI Education Division overseeing both U.S. and International educational events and the TIGI Ambassador program. eventually Nahid returned to Toni & Guy to oversee the Advanced and Basic educational systems as well as the Toni & Guy Artistic Team training and was named Senior Artistic Director and Educational Director of the company which at that time she focused on managing the artistic directors and educators of each salon and creating a balance between business and artistry, she oversaw the educational department while coaching new salon partnerships on their new path to a successful business with Toni & Guy.
Nahid also worked closely to help create the incredible hairstyles featured in advertising and trend collection imagery in various project with International Artistic Directors like, Anthony Mascolo, Patricia Morales, Laini Reeves, John Ruidant, Eugene Souleiman, Didier Malige and James Morrison including renowned photographers such as; Alexie Hey, Hudson Wright, Babak, Peter Lindbergh, Regan Cameron.
Over the last 30 years, Nahid has worked with a veritable who’s-who of the industry in Middle East, Europe and the United States. Aside from having some of Hollywood’s elite on speed dial like includes Academy Award nominee Shohreh Agdashloo, persian music artists like Leila Forouhar, Googoosh, Hengameh or Sepideh, Kamran she traveled as personal hairstylist with Queen Lidia, former Queen of Saudi Arabia for 2 years.
Having been Dallas based, she has enjoyed titles such as Chief Stylist for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Mavericks Cheerleaders and Chief Stylist for Fox channel “Good Day Dallas” and since in Los Angeles area, Fox 5 San Diego, Univision and also TV shows like Connan O'Brian, Chelsea Lately,and many more.
Nahid has directed her hair styling team for various international fashion shows including; Martin Margiela, Hugo Boss, BCBG, Calvin Klein, Advertising campaigns to date include: Givenchy, Lancôme, L’Oréal
“Hair, make-up and clothes are our most expressive assets. A great haircut should enhance your facial features while also accenting your personality. I think many hairdressers try and fit a person into a hairstyle. I believe it should be the other way round I approach every cut with an eye for geometry while tailoring each look to the individual person or character," exclaims Nahid.
Today, Nahid divides her time between working with her clients behind the chair in Hollywood and Dallas, also as a Director of Education. Her career as a educator, fashion, runway, editorial, celebrity stylist and mens groomer continues to take her where the beauty of different cultures inspires her and where exciting new projects continue to challenge and fulfill her.
