Mercedes Segesvary is a playwright, fine art illustrator and comedienne. She is the author of Alive and Well, which received its first performance at the Metropolitan Playhouse, NYC in 2013. Her short play, Room For Rent won her a 2012 PlayGround Emerging Playwright Award. In 2008 Mercedes brought to life a comedic retelling of a San Francisco Tour Guide’s life and received a Best of Fringe Award for her critically acclaimed performance. She is a first generation Hungarian-American and her work often reflects the clashing of cultures, sexes and generations. Her fine art illustrations have received equal recognition and respect for their colorful depictions of humanity. Mercedes works as a teaching artist in art and playwriting.
