About Jason

I'm the Creator/Director of the webtv series called "The Velvet Coffin", which pays homage to Elvira's "Movie Macabre" and "Mystery Science Theater 3000" and takes place in the Portland, OR area during the zombie apocalypse.
I also play the horror host on the show named "Baron Von Ghoulscout".
I came up with the idea for the show based on my love (and inspiration) of classic Horror & Sci-Fi movies, and the shows we pay tribute to. I don't have any formal training in filmmaking, I just decided to go for it and jumped right into the project... that is, after I dragged my friends in too.
Although there are plenty of nods and site gags that point toward those shows I love, I didn't want to just outright copy them. So I decided to take the idea of the show in a different direction by making it more like a television show from the 1950's - 60's, treating it like a dark comedy, and have our characters rip on different classic movies in each episode.
We're currently in pre-production and are working on releasing our pilot within the next few months.
