Hi,everyone! New to Stage 32 and still trying to figure my way around. I am a screenwriter, sometimes a blogger, and a novelist. I've been writing for awhile and decided this was the year I start taking a career in it seriously. My screenplay THE PRAIRIE DANCE, about African-Americans set adrift in the west after the Civil War, was a recent finalist in the Peach Tree International Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. I am currently wrapping up a comedy in the vein of Judd Apatow's style (THIS IS 40, KNOCKED UP, etc.). My goal is to someday work with that man and his goofy band of friends.
A geek by trade, being a software developer pays the bills. I've recently figured out how to incorporate my geekiness into my scripts, and the soundbites of my life make it seem like we geeks have a hilarious life. Alas, and sadly, no. My life mostly involves sitting in front of computers, wondering why the end users of my software act so surprised when the software doesn't do what they never asked it to in the first place.
My goal this year is to sell my latest script and/or land some paid writing assignments.
