Hello, and welcome to my profile! This looks like an awesome site, and I'm very glad to have found it. Following is a brief bio to introduce myself, my career transition, and what I hope to accomplish over the next year.
To begin, I have three college degrees: Associate in General Business, Major - Accounting; Bachelor of Liberal Arts, Major - Accounting/Minors - Math, English-History; Masters Degree -MBA.
Job titles I've held - Director of Finance; Controller; Adjunct Faculty/College Instructor; Accounting Manager. I worked in accounting & finance for the last 10 years, so I could be an asset to any project in need of an accountant.
I decided to dedicate my time to my true passion, script writing. Currently, I have 15 scripts under construction! I am learning everything I can about script writing and the industry, looking for the best contests, looking to network within the industry, and I am seeking representation.
My ultimate goal is to complete some projects for a portfolio and then spend several months in L.A. actively promoting my work, seeking an agent if I do not have one by then, and intensifying my networking efforts.
Miscellaneous - if you look at my desert island list, you will get a quick idea of the genres I like for sure! The scripts I am writing are all action, suspense, myth, with intense human interest mixed in. Some might best belong on a network like Lifetime, others might do well as television or cable mini-series, others may be suited for cable channels that deliver exiting, original movie content. A few of these might even look good on the big screen! I am in love with all the ideas, and am thankful for a crazy life that has provided me with the observations, experiences, and people (both good and bad) who have inspired these ideas!
I am very open to also finding situations that include collaboration, script reading, idea development, or joining a writer's room as part of the team!
Thanks so much for your interest!
Unique traits: Straight teeth and look a little younger than I am.
