About Ragnheiður

Ragnheiður (Ragga) Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic writer, born on December 24, 1982. She studied Art and Design at the Reykjavík Technical College (2002 - 2005) and Interior Design at the IED in Barcelona (2005-2008). She is currently studying Political Science and Creative Writing at the University of Iceland and will graduate with a BA degree in February 2022.

Ragga was diagnosed with a Stage 4 peritoneal cancer in January 2016 and was told that it was possibly incurable. However, after two rigorous chemotherapy treatments and surgery in February 2017, she has remained cancer-free. Two years later, she was diagnosed with severe anxiety and PTSD as a result of the cancer diagnoses on top of older traumas. Ragga has, however, found a platform for expression and healing through writing.

Ragga has an insatiable appetite for adventure and the outdoors and is an avid storyteller, writer, and a poet with a fertile imagination. She currently has a few book projects on her worktable, including a psychological thriller/horror novel and screenplays. She published her first book of poetry last year, 2021, called PTSD: poems with post traumatic stress disorder.
