About Mitchell

Born as Mitchell Leedom Tyrer in Glendale, CA and later raised in Long Beach, CA. Named after the Mitchell camera by his father, Ronald - a USC Film School Graduate; film has been a major part of Mitch's life as far back as he can remember. Growing up watching the classics pushed Mitch to eventually decide upon a career in the field, not as an actor, but instead as a hard working camera man. This decision was made in 2006 while attending St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont, at which point he decided to take a videography class which he excelled at. From Vermont Mitchell traveled to Chicago, IL to attend the Columbia College Chicago Film School where he concentrated in Cinematography. Graduating in May of 2011, Mitchell is a freelance Director of Photography/Cinematographer. A passionate, hard working, and serious filmmaker with an eye for detail. Having a great deal of on set experience as a camera assistant and grip, he is comfortable in setting a shot and lighting it. Mitchell's ultimate goal is be a successful Director of Photography on big features and to be a member of the ASC.
