Rejecting his close-minded, casserole-eating upbringing (buh-bye Mountain Dew), Matt left Pittsburgh, PA for Los Angeles, came out of the closet (sorry, Dad!) and into a three-year TV masterclass & mentorship working as assistant to Emmy-winning showrunner Alex Cary. Shortly after, Matt optioned a show to Sony TV and continues to develop with Alex. Matt’s also been in development on a pilot with Mary Viola at Wonderland Sound & Vision and was hired to write an Xmas film for Bad Idea. Matt’s accolades include winning the PAGE Awards Best Comedy Pilot and being a finalist for Humanitas New Voices. Matt uses his darkly comedic voice and life lessons that come with being queer to craft character-driven stories dealing with breaking down societal “norms” and overcoming adversity. When Matt isn’t writing, he’s obsessing over skincare because Botox frightens him more than aging does.
Blubber Comedy ⋄ Animation A chubby, sexually-confused teenager finds his brutally bloody imagination to be the best escape from a problematic reality in the mid-1990s.
FLUFFED Comedy A straight man who has secretly been making a living doing gay porn attempts to stop his conservative mother from blowing up his life when she decides to run for governor.
