About Michelle

I started college in 1986 with my sights set on a degree in Elementary Education. Following in the footsteps of my Father and his parents as an educator. After several changes of my major from Elementary to Secondary Education to Secondary English to Secondary Science, I graduated in 2003 from the University of Louisiana Lafayette with a degree in General Science. Not an education degree as I had hoped for, but the knowledge I craved and a degree non-the-less.
In 2009, I entered the acting world, by pure happenstance and being in the right place at the right time. It was a childhood dream. Background roles led to lead roles in full length films and short films, and a commercial or two. Recognizable roles? Depends upon your view. I think they are all recognizable because I know the studying, sore feet, tears, laughter and time I poured into each role. My goal was to immortalize my image for my kids so that one day when I am gone, they can pull up a link and see me in my prime, young and happy. That's why.
In 2015, the state of Louisiana decided to reduce the tax incentives for filmmaking. After having acted in several indie projects and a couple of major productions, but with a promising acting career now in jeopardy, I decided I needed an outlet where I could continue studying and honing my acting chops, but with auditions and productions practically nonexistent, I took to online studying and found a series of seminars on narrating audiobooks. I only had 2 hours per month of free time on one particular site, so needless to say, I had to learn piecemeal through the seminars and the rest was self-taught. Now in two years I have 55 narrated titles and 3 edited titles under a different narrator selling on Audible, with even more contracts in my inbox. I believe I have found my niche – It’s like teaching while bringing characters to life with my voice while doing something I love so much, reading.
My motto has always been “a man does himself the greatest injustice when he chooses to stop learning.” Most of the my skills are either learned from my parents or self-taught and that is what I am most proud of.
