Sandie Luna Co-Artistic Director and founder of Nettles Artists
Collective, studied theater and sociology at Florida State University
(FSU). She has trained extensively in physical theater techniques with
Pantheatre (Paris), Stemwerk (Rotterdam), Atlantic Theater School, SITI
Company and Labyrinth Theater's Masterclass, among others.
Her work with her company, Nettles Artists Collective, revolves around devising and producing new works around the mission of imbuing the American performance scene with authentic global voices and an innovative use of physical theater. Her main focus is to cultivate a multi-ethnic, multidisciplinary hub for artists.
Her most recent and significant projectis the establishment of a laboratory for the visual and performing arts in Manhattan: Hudson River Hub ().
She is a self-defined "non-solo artist" whose work is made up of collaboration in multi-disciplinary experimentation with covert references to her cultural and ethnic background.
