About Mike

Mike was introduced to music when he was only four years old. He began playing banjo, then guitar, percussion and piano, studying with The Associated Board of the Royal School of Music. He started his first band when he was thirteen years old. Not content with playing cover songs, he started creating his own compositions.

By the time he was in his late teens, he had composed numerous songs. At the age of twenty he landed his first recording deal with Phonogram Records and a publishing deal with Carlin Music. Not one to sit back and wait for things to happen, Mike decided to submit one of his compositions to The Eurovision Song Contest. The song reached number 12 in the UK chart and around the world. A string of successes followed. To date, Mike has sold over 40 million records, writing 75 single and album hits (he is best known for the song I’m In The Mood For Dancing ) and a succession of chart successes and industry awards. In addition to his work in the pop world, Mike also composed numerous songs and themes for television and radio advertisements.
