About Barry

Authored semi-autobiography " A Taste of Cold Steel."
Crimes. Drugs. Prisons. I know these well having grown up in the streets of St. Paul. Poolrooms, after-hours joints, hustling. I changed in prison. After my release, I went to college, became a criminal defense lawyer and traveled the country representing clients in state and federal courts.
During my legal career, I received recognition in the Minnesota District Court Judges Poll as the Most Well-Prepared Trial Lawyer. I was also recognized as one of Minnesota's Top 40 Criminal Defense Lawyers, one of Minnesota's Top 50 Appellate Lawyers and a Super Lawyer for years.
As a practicing attorney, I represented and consulted with musicians, actors and screenwriters.
The more successful I became, the more resentful some in law enforcement became. I no longer practice law.
I write what I know and what I lived.

Unique traits: As a former addict and convict, and then a criminal defense attorney for 35 years, I have unique experiences in representing intriguing and colorful personalities in state and federal courts; they make for interesting characters and add flavor to my storylines.
