Chosen by Music Connection magazine as one of their top 25 favorite signings of 2011, Robert Morris is the creative force behind Stress Monkey Alliance.
"Morris' hexaphonic guitar and catholic music tastes creates something mesmerizing and enveloping and they converge harmoniously on his debut release entitled Parts Unknown" Mark Nardone. Music Connection December 2011.
As a pioneer in composing 3-D music Robert Morris has directed his focus and talent to the improvement of multi channel Surround Sound applications. Rather than using surround sound solely for mixing and ambiance, Robert developed an instrument that allows him to compose and create music in surround sound, completely enveloping the listener in three dimensionally rendered music. The end result is a lush sonic environment for any consumer or industry application that employs surround sound.
Robert Morris was born and raised in Manhattan NYC. Robert started playing violin at the age of 8. Influenced by his older brothers record collection he taught himself to play the guitar at the age of 12. In high school his science teacher, noting his ineptitude in physics encouraged him to pursue his musical talent. While in high school Robert attended Mannes College for music and Manhattan school of music in addition to studying with private instructors.
He has worked professionally as a musician from the age of 15. Over the years Robert has worked as an engineer, producer and session player.
Currently Robert works as a freelance composer providing instrumental music for use in television, film, the gaming industry and web content.
He is currently working on several new audio/soundscape projects for release in 2015 and his 3-D multi channel music/sound design will be available at by June 15 2015.
Unique traits: Lush, ethereal soundscapes created in and for surround sound environments.
