Nick Pollack

Director's Biography

Nick Pollack is an award winning director based in Sydney. He has been directing since 2004, and working in the industry since 1999.

Nick conceives, directs and edits across all multimedia platforms, whilst maintaining a strong tie to traditional film-making via commercials, music videos, short dramas and documentaries.

He is currently developing his first feature film - 'Any Girl Who Loves The Beatles Is Bound To Break Your Heart' - through the assistance of Screen NSW and the guidance of Damon Lane, producer / manager at Zero Gravity Management in NYC. The project recently secured the attachment of Tamsin Egerton ('The Look of Love', 'Singularity') as the female lead.

Through the development process, Nick was approached by LA based screenwriter Diane Drake ('What Women Want', 'Only You') to co-write an original comedy / adventure script based on her existing idea called 'Snowgate'. That project recently attached a US based producer who is developing the project. He also has several other feature scripts in various stages of development.

In 2009, he won the Australian Director's Guild award for 'Best Direction In New Media Platforms' for a Unilever/Continental campaign, beating an Emmy nominated campaign in the process. He has also won awards for his previous short film 'The Full Gamut' at several local short film festivals.

Nick has worked across several large multimedia campaigns for the likes of Mastercard, Nestle, Unilever, Universal Music, Sony, McDonalds, Cathay Pacific, Mitsubishi and LG, and has been involved in over 250 TVC campaigns. He has worked in Canada, directing a documentary about the Canadian music scene and through his own company 'BANGBANG Films' directed the pilot for a TV series about European music festivals.
