Hey everyone! I'm the Festival Director of a horror genre film fest called Cleveland Horror Fest (http://clevelandhorror.com). Our inaugural event takes place Oct 1st - 3rd at Atlas Cinemas in Shaker Square here in Cleveland, with a virtual screening option as well via the Sparq platform. We're screening horror features, shorts, and medium length films from all around the world, as well as taking horror screenplay submissions of all lengths for our screenplay competition.

In addition to the films we have a number of workshops planned in filmmaking, screenwriting, and acting, with some really great industry professionals from our area involved. We will also have a number of parties and networking events. It's shaping up to be a really great event, with a lot of support from a number of key sponsors and organizations in our local community and nationally.

We'll be announcing a first round of early accepted films sometime in the very near future. But we're definitely still taking submissions, for both films and screenplays. I'm especially looking for more representation from films outside the U.S. ,because I'd really like to be able to showcase a diverse group of films that represent a lot of different backgrounds and communities.

Submission fees are of course an important part of revenue to put on a festival like this, but I'm also sensitive to the fact that these can all add up pretty quickly when you're submitting to various projects. I don't mind giving waivers and further discounts for those that need it if the project is a fit.
