I was asked this question when working on the trailer for Trail. This was my response.
What are your goals or aspirations in film?
To make people think and see the world differently through someone else’s eyes. I love films that challenge conventional thinking and make me feel uncomfortable while I watch them. This is probably why I am attracted to the psychological thriller genre – the thriller provides interesting landscapes for characters to explore sensitive subject matter in. These themes can then be magnified in incredible and entertaining ways. I want to show the viewer something they have never seen before. Each scene has to be unique and interesting. I also like stories that require research and allow me to learn new information; I’m always both a student and a teacher for every film I am involved in. For “Trail”, I read case reports and watched video diaries. In addition, I consulted with a psychologist from Wayne State University in Detroit for authenticity.
Unique traits: If you have a script to pitch, I highly recommend Stage 32 Happy Writers. They put you in touch with some of the leading execs in the business!!! My script is in the hands of top production companies, managers, and producers. I have learned so much about the business since December 2013 when I started using Happy Writers. Plus, Joey Tuccio is so encouraging and a lot of fun to work with!!!! Check them out at: https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers
