David Lavine wrote and co-produced the sci-fi short HERE COMES FRIEDA starring Ellie Wallwork and Sarita Choudhury. He and Andrew Nielson wrote and produced the acclaimed comedy web series PLANT: THE SECOND COMING, nominated for Indie Series Awards' Best Writing - Comedy and NYC Web Fest's Outstanding Achievement in Writing. He has written for the public health series HIV IS STILL A BIG DEAL and the web series THE SUZY & DUDDY SHOW and has co-written and developed commercials and branded shorts for such brands as Mercedes Benz, BMW, H&M, Michael Kors, and Prada. His screenplay THE UNCONJOINED was a Scriptapalooza Quarterfinalist. His plays have been produced or workshopped at Portland Center Stage (JAW Festival), New York Theatre Workshop, Abingdon Theatre Company, Ensemble Studio Theatre, South Carolina Repertory Company, New Jersey Rep, and both the New York and Columbus Fringe Festivals. Recognition includes O'Neill Conference finalist and semifinalist placements (THAT BRIGHT FOG, THE OCEAN ALL AROUND US and POKING KITTY PURPLE), and the Heidi Award for Best Original Short (SMUGGLERS THREE).
