Wondering if anyone wants to organize with me, a gathering on a regular, semi-regular, every now and then or sporadic cuz our lives are chaotic basis? :). Please PM me and lets see what shakes loose. Status is, I had surgery in December and everything kinda got lost in the catchup lol. Anyone wants to help pull this together, please send me a private message so we can pull it together :) thanks!

Bill Hartin

Hope your surgery went well, Tracy. If one of the original goals of this pending meet-up was to stay close to Doylestown and perhaps attract folks from the Philly area, then this option probably won't...

As I said earlier, I'd come in from Lancaster for this! I used to live in D'town...there's a decent library there...possibly there's a back room for meetings like this would be that we could use, or, the Starbucks like someone mentioned, or, or...Anyway, I have lots of music to share!!

Feedback from Screenwriting Competitions: Bad notes? Or am I overly defensive?

I've only entered a couple of screenwriting competitions, so I can't tell if I'm getting bad notes or sound advice. Basically, I felt like the reader already had a preconceived notion of how my story should be told rather than evenly digest what I had written. I can appreciate the three-act structur...

In the example of AFF, (and it applies to the handful of top-tier competitions that are respected) they have a very well thought out process to make sure that all scripts get a fair read and they are...

Yeah Howard, you’re rambling a bit but you’ve touched on some really important issues. I venture that all the more prestigious screenwriting contests each receive thousands of scripts of which the vas...

All true Ben. As I re-read scripts I wrote a decade ago, it amazes me that I turned out so much junk and I’ve produced a couple of films that are so bad, they’ll never be seen by others – yeah, that’s...

Some readers actually offer a good analysis , and some others just seem to be going through the motions and repeating a lot of writing workshop clichés and buzzwords. The contests that offer notes hav...

I enjoy writing and I have been honing my skills as a screenwriter. In addition, I have learned how to create TV shows.

My stories are all about the Caribbean-American experience. The English-speaking Caribbean Islands are very important to the Western Hemisphere. Someone needs to highlight and tell our stories. I am from St. Vincent and the Grenadines. St. Vincent has the oldest Botanical Gardens in the Western Hemisphere. It was establish in 1765.

If your stories are good, then your backdrops will definitely add flavour - nobody can deny that. I wish you all the best, because there aren't enough films (if any) that shed some light on the culture you're speaking of, and that's a shame.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Hello. I agree that not enough is known about the islands you speak of, and I wish you lots of luck. Kathleen.
