A much respected and sought after composer, Dan Selby’s work has been heard regularly on British television throughout the last decade. Amongst his many commissions, he has scored long-running favourites like the ITV series, Countrywise and its spin-off series, Countrywise Kitchen, the children’s BBC game show, Fee Fi Fo Yum (with Les Dennis), and the ITV1 series, Wild Britain with Ray Mears (ITV1).
Born in 1972, Dan has been a full-time professional composer for over 10 years. He originally studied astro-physics at Manchester University before changing direction and forging a career in music. He holds an Honours degree in Popular Music and Recording from Salford University and has studied composition privately with the late David Blumberg.
Alongside his work for television, Dan has produced music and sound design on TV and cinema commercials for leading international brands and advertising agencies (such as for BSkyB, Berghaus and FCB) and top selling video games (Mashed, Micro Machines, Farscape, Wipeout Fusion, Destruction Derby Raw). His work for leading production music libraries (EMI, Universal, BMG, Zomba) has been used all over the world.
