As a latchkey kid growing up in Pittsburgh PA and later Houston TX, Michael relied heavily on his imagination for entertainment.He would spend hours with his little brother, creating their own dramas and comedies, action adventures and full length films. By Middle School, Michael began seeking to learn more about acting and took Drama classes, participated in Speech and Drama Tournaments (Placing 1st in Pantomime, Prose, Improvisational & Team Acting Categories) and eventually performing in stage plays. Michael began seriously acting from College forward to this present day. He performed with the A.D. Players of DFW his freshman year in college. While in the Air Force from 90-92, he performed with the Air Force “Topps in Blue” entertainment corps performing in variety show and plays for Air Force and other Military installations worldwide. Upon entering civilian life, Michael discovered that his acting ability and skills were not natural occurrences but gifts. Through this discovery, Michael began devoting his craft to Him who has blessed him with his Talents. Michael began working with the Drama Ministry of SW Community the Bridge and eventually became its Director. He has performed in over 20 stage plays to include A Raisin in the Sun (Walter Lee), Redeemed (Apostle Peter), Fences (Cory Maxon), The Power of Prayer (Marcus-Lead), Sanctuary (Stephen-Lead), Amen’s Corner (Luke-Lead), Christmas Miracles (Robert-Lead) Merry Christmas…No Matter What (Dual roles: Jacob/Melvin), and Mama -Please Don't Cry (Mr. Sylvester/Pastor Lewis/Officer Lattimore). Michael Lamarr was also a spokesperson for Keeling Law for 2 years (2007-2009), shooting several commercials/infomercials for the prestigious law firm. Currently, He is the Host/Editor of the Web Magazine “” showcasing the finest entertainment & restaurants on Washington Ave. in Houston, TX.
