David comes from a background in computer science engineering with a Masters degree from the City College of New York. In 1976, David created Opticomm Fiber Optics communications network, which operates on a multi-million dollar scale and services dozens of high profile names commercial and government agencies including NBC, Disney, Viacom, and NASA amongst others.
After retiring as CEO of Opticomm, David decided it was time for a new endeavor: film. He enrolled in the MFA Producer's program at New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and graduates at the top of his class. In 2008, David fused his passion for storytelling with his business savvy and establishes Avyan Productions. In nearly half a decade in the film industry David has had the opportunity to produce four short films (The Scroll, Karma, Charlie English, Ziya written by David action adventure and teenage drama) and currently David has five features in development. “The Scroll” is an Epic feature inspired by true event Rothschild, when Titanic meets the Orient Express. “Ocean of Fire” when a Female Seal Team Six Leader culminates in the Arctic Ocean bursting into walls of fire. “Shadow Dancing” When Ballet dancing meets Hip-Hop dancing: The magic of a blinded performer dancing with the her Shadow
