About Thomas

In the mid-1980s I founded one of the most unusual theaters in the world. The first and still only children's theater in Germany based on the idea of Erich Kästner, who wanted every city to have its own theater for children and we are not talking about the usual christmas fairy tale at the city theater, we are talking about a theater where children could play themselves. Adults were only allowed to move sets, turn the lights on and off, or clean the toilets. They were really only allowed to play if there was an adult in the play.

For 15 years, I directed the theater, which still exists today and wrote and directed more than 40 plays, for which he always designed and built the stage sets as well. For this he received the cultural promotion award of the city of Würzburg in 1997.

The plays that were performed there were mostly exclusively world premieres and even then did not care about the latest trends, were timeless, yet always current and refreshingly uneducational.

In 2000 Thomas switched to film, where he started as a rookie from scratch again and in 2005 founded his own production company superNeun and finally in 2014 he won numerous international awards with his first children's film "Lola auf der Erbse".
