About Rj

Hi!

A longtime movie fan - even once working at the literal Movie Fan, a VHS rental shop - now seeking to use my powers for chaos. I'm a voracious devourer of books (love Pynchon, Gaiman, Dumas, etc.), games (Metal Gear, Final Fantasy), movies (indie/horror/arthouse), comics (Vertigo, Saga, X-men), indie music - you name it. Mildly obsessed with felines. Lived in Osaka, Japan for many years and dream about getting back someday.

Originally from the States, I now run a one person videography company in Dublin Ireland with an eye towards creative filmmaking. My passions include directing (comedy shorts and music videos mostly), writing (adaptations and comedy), videography, photography, and video editing. I'm always interested in collaborating and hope to make some new festival material in the near future. Reach out and say hello!

Favorite creatives include:
Nathan Fielder (He has really good grades)
Brit Marling (Sound of My Voice, the OA)
Noah Baumbach (White Noise)
Miranda July (The Future, Kajillionaire, Me & You & Everyone We Know)
Eleanor Friedberger (The Fiery Furnaces, her solo stuff!)

Unique traits: Intermediate Japanese speaker, Videography, Directing, Writing, Proofreading, Screenwriting, Video Editing, Certified Legal Video Specialist, 2D & 3D Animation, English/Cinema Studies degrees, Certificates in 2D & 3D Animation, Typing speed 90 words per minute
