Expand commentThanks, everyone. Richard, I've been writing books for ten years now, and I would have to say that one thing I've learned (among many) is to follow your passion. If you're not passionate about your topic, you won't put the necessary effort into it, and it will show in the final book / film. As you can probably guess, I am very passionate about Ancient Rome and the British Empire.

Welcome to the community! I'm very interested in historical pieces, though I tend to prefer the nineteenth century. I'd love to hear more about what you are doing and how you have time to do all that. Kudos for being so prolific.
Follow your passion is certainly some great advice, James. I can tell you that in my experience too many of my fellow screenwriters follow the market instead of their passion.
