Valentina Caniglia, Director Of Photography, has transcended to the highest levels of modern cinema as one of the foremost recognized cinematographers in the world with a defining and talented voice. Adept at filming each project with versatile visual style that best translates each story's unique concept into breathtaking moving images.
Admired for her distinctive original work, which is considered remarkable and extraordinary, Valentina serves the vision as she shapes and unravels the concept with light, composition and movement. She is known for her work on the film "Pomegranates and Myrrh", winner of the Golden Dagger for Best Cinematography, premiered in USA at Sundance film Festival, the film received the Audience Award at Doha Tribeca Film Festival handed out by Robert De Niro."Shade Of Love" winner of best cinematography award at the Hoboken International Film Festival, "Fred Won't Move Out" nominated for best cinematography by the AIC IMAGO award starring Elliott Gould, and the critically acclaimed film "Assolo" described by the world critics to be a movie with an astonishing and elegant Cinematography. In Addition, Valentina Caniglia filmed as a Director Of Photography for HBO, Canal Plus, Showtime TV, RAI, and Voyage TV, Netflix for whom she filmed underwater cinematography in the Caribbean, Italy and Egypt. Valentina Caniglia lensed numerous nationally aired commercials for British Airways, Ford, Nike, Novomatic, United Healthcare, Konami, GBX Shoes, which received the Telly Award.
Valentina's other work include the film "Return to Sender" starring Bill Cobbs, directed by Oscar-winning producer Ravi Malhotra, "Lostland" starring Burt Young. "Nightmare" winner of the New York Film Festival. The film's cinematography was the subject of an article featured in American Cinematographer .
Valentina also made her mark in the music video world where she lensed music videos for The Roots, The Stain, Aesop Rock, Soho, which achieved the first position at the MTV Music Videos Awards.
Recently, Valentina contributed her talents as camera operators for the film "Kelly&Cal" starring Juliette Lewis.
In 2012, Valentina Caniglia was bestowed the honor of being invited to join the European Federation of Cinematographers IMAGO and the Association of Cinematographers (AIC). Valentina has been featured in the following publications: American Cinematographers, IndieWire, Hollywood Reporters, Variety, The New York Times, The Village Voice, InCamera, La Repubblica, Il Levante, Il Mattino, D-Donna and Elle.
