Keith J. Duggan

1990, armed with a film degree from The University of Buffalo, Duggan began his obsession with light and camera in New York City. While lensing several independent features, he traveled the country shooting bits with John Melendez for The Howard Stern Show. Although sparse, the film business was good then in NY, for every job there were ten cameraman interviewing for it.

LA was always on the horizon. Duggan started as a 2nd AC for a show on the DEN network, which was ahead of it's time. By the end of the first cycle (season) he was shooting the show. Countless music videos and independent features, the film business was thriving in LA in the 2000s. From zombie movies to comedies, he had the opportunity to lens some of the best, including John Putch's Bachelor Man and Mojave Phone Booth; and SciFi Channel’s Haunted Prison and Sands of Oblivion; and Grey Frederickson’s Soul’s Midnight.

2007 was the beginning of the wind of change in Los Angeles, as most of us know. From the strikes to the economic downside, the industry migrated east. Not wanting to leave LA, Duggan had to find a way to survive. He was offered an opportunity to design the lighting for a reality show and one thing lead to another he was was illuminating the top shows on The Food Network, including The Next Food Network Star and The Rachael vs Guy series. All while still Lensing the few remaining independent films remaining in LA, including I'm in Love with a Church Girl, directed by his long time friend Steve Race. I'm in Love with a Church Girl was Ja Rule's break out dramatic roll which had a national release in the fall of 2013.


Post 'get out of LA', feature film credits include Tom Jonhston’s 50 Nothing; John Putch’s Route 30 Trilogy, as well as several new and upcoming webisodes including Jamie Widdoe's The 4 to 9ers. Duggan also has had the opportunity to work as the second unit D.P. on several studio projects and pilots for Warner Brothers and Universal Home Video.
