You're awesome and so am I!

I'm a rookie screenwriter living in Kansas City. My tastes lie between the avant-garde and big blockbusters. The films I love include Fight Club (a fun but sincere warning about the desperation of modern males) Howl's Moving Castle (cinematic whimsy and magic in its purest form since The Wizard of Oz) and Rear Window (Hitchcock. It's Hitchcock. Everything in cinema revolves around Hitchcock!)

My goal is to write in a variety of genres but my mind gravitates towards the fantastic in all directions. Monsters really interest me but I like stories that show them as misunderstood misfits, even as heroes who use their skills, powers, and weirdness to do the right thing, even if the world hates them. As a Black screenwriter, I also want to promote diversity in my projects, not just making characters who represent identities that are marginalized but also stand out as unique people for whom their obvious cultural markers take a backseat to who they are. Most of all, I want to create stories that stand out as electrifying, fresh ideas that pull audiences in, knowing they'll get an experience that they can't get anywhere else.

On Stage32, I want to meet other creative people and learn from them, from YOU, so I can be the best I can be. And maybe I can help you be your best too. Let's do it together!
