I've always DREAMED of being a cartoon character!! Now, I"ve never put a demo reel together to showcase my talent as a voice actor. What do I need to do to make that happen and THEN...... HOW OR WHERE DO I LOOK FOR WORK????

Expand commentI sent this response to another individual asking the same questions...(and I'm gonna send it to everyone else who asks...it's inexhaustible)...Training is the beginning; which is an expensive process, but worth it (with the RIGHT training, of course). Go to www.voiceoverresourceguide.com for mucho info. Go to www.voicebank.net to hear some of err'body that's out there. You want training AND success? First forget about how you sound and how many voices you can do, then go to www.braintracksaudio.com and tell Nancy I sent you. She's the truth. She has an 87% or greater, turnover rate of getting her students signed to an agent, working or BOTH. Make sure you stay by your computer when you email her, she's good to respond within minutes.
thank you dearly
I live in Atlanta, GA and just from looking at the site, it seems the focus is on all things in California. Is there any other listings available to search the country for classes?

Expand commentI guess I need to give a bit more information in my introduction.... I am an actor and my most recent work has been on "Joe" Starring Nicolas Cage and Directed by David Gordon Green (both guys are personable and professional (I played a Deputy Sheriff). Also,"Flutter 2013" with Lindsey Pulshipher and Glenn Morshower ( Again I was a Deputy Sheriff). Lindsey is a sweetheart and Glenn is intense! I was a cop on "DALLAS" "False Confession", I play a lot of "Cop" parts....got that look. I was FBI on FOX TV "Prison Break" 6 episodes of season 2 (No credits), Detective in FOX TV "THe Good Guys" 6 episodes (no credit), A CSI on pilot of NBC TV "Chase" (no credit), also a flagstaff cop twice and a Border Patrol on Chase. I was a tough guy in a bar fight on "Bicycle Bobby" by maddog films. I have played a killer in an indie that never got to disk that I know of "When you play a bad guy it's fun because there are no rules!" I'm with Acclaim Talent of Austin, TX. I am an artist and some of my work artwork can be viewed at www.bonzorart.com I'm just a regular guy that decided to go after his dream. You are only a failure if you don't try or you quite! When times get hard... I remember from working with my hands and power tools that the drill bit binds just before you break through . remembering that makes it easier to keep going, Also I trust God most of all! Expand commentGreat to have you here, Jon. To answer your initial question, in our short two year history, tens of thousands have used this network to find work and representation, launch projects, secure funding, or simply make life and career altering connections. Additionally, we've recently added some educational aspects to the site and have a ton more planned for 2014. The best is yet to come. Glad you're in the mix!
