While reading, I felt so connected to you. As kids I felt like we were one in the same. Heck, I'm still the one spilling the milk and messing up something. I'm giving the business a shot one more time because I was told I'm really good. So it's the same thing, I do all this stuff just to try to get what I need to prove I'm good, but the money HAS to go to family first. It's so dark sometimes. You wanna stay down from some of the punches. But, I guess it's just that never say die thing. Thank you so much for sharing this. These stories can be so comforting. [ like I'm making the world a better place]. I am an Actress/screenwriter/producer. At the age of 18 yrs I began a miraculous journey moving to L.A. for film. After a single year of theatre conservatory school, where I luckily traveled to London for a intensive at the Globe Theatre, I adore your country's theatrical classics ;). My passion for film landed me a job working production for Sony Studios at the age of 21. With the courage of heaven I have continued on as an Actress/Screenwriter/Producer after receiving an 'in- field" education at Sony Studios. Thanks much for sharing your story. Candor like yours is always a welcome surprise -- and inspiring. Like a lot of creatives, I have a bipolar condition and ... have crashed & burned on more occasions than I can easily recall. (In case you missed the memo, 'Touched with Fire' is hard to put down: http://bit.ly/RPs9qe) The author is bipolar and a psychiatrist. She writes beautifully and here she tells us about scads of famous artists, musicians and writers who all suffered in this way. What have I learned? I think it was Hemingway who said we're strongest in the places where we've been broken. And then, like I tell the doctors, I may be a slice of white bread from the suburbs, but all those Greek tragedies hold no mystery for me.
